Default 6x45 v 6x47 or 6mm x .204

Has anyone got or had any of these,
I am looking at a cooper 51, in either 6x45 or 6x47,
I know brass is common for the .223 (6x45) and scarce for the 6x47, I think i have sum lined up, and do have .204 ruger brass,
What sort of performance did you get, either for the 6x45 or 6x57,( .204)
to my mind the 6x45 makes the most sense, but i keep coming back to the 6x47, an itch i am going to have to scratch,
so who's had one, got one.

I bought a 6x45 on a sako A1, and later built one also on a A1. Nice little cartridge, easy to load, out performs the 223 on the light end yet lets you shoot big bullets if you desire.

Sadly I sold/traded both away. (But I was smart enough to keep my dies, and reamer.)

Duceman has an ultra accurate 6x47 Remington 40xbr bench rest rig. He could give you some info.

Nice,.....custom rifles get old fast when you can do this with factory rifles shooting factory ammo.

Here's another good example. His first 6 shots that drifted to the right are close to 3/4 to 7/8 MOA by my estimation.

I have 2 6x45 a Cooper and one built on an Sako AI action (thanks DG). Recently traded into a 6x47 in a Rem 700 , which appears to have been a rebored and rechambered .222 Rem .

Once I get my loading room back in place (had a water issue in May) I'll be trying all three over the chronograph.

The Cooper is twisted 1/14 and Sako 1/8 not sure about the Rem but it's probably 1/14.

For simplicity and if I only had one it would be a 6x45 .

pic of the Sako

I would check out the magazine length on the Cooper before I decided.

The 45 version will give you a little more bullet seating OAL latitude. You might appreciate it depending on mag length.

I got to see this cooper in person and it's beautiful.

Southern man, did you need up going with a long barrel? That picture looks longer than 20".

Double gun, No its 20", at least it is for now, looking at taking it to New Zealand next time I am back, and will cut back to 17-18" and fit a suppressor. Its going to be my dual purpose rifle, small game, wallabies, small deer and goats. The beauty of NZ hunting, is if a pig or deer sticks its nose, out while rabbit hunting it can be shot. I've always used my .222 for this, but its a bit light, esp on red deer and boar.

Really impressed with this little rifle, fun to shoot, easy to load for and not fussy, every combo of bullets and powder, has shot inside an inch, most much less. 75gr sierra most accurate, but have good results with 58, 65 v-max 65 berger, 70gr B-tip, and 80gr blitz.
Just tried 80gr sierra, with 26.5g benchmark, good groups and kissing 3000fps, 27gr gave tight bolt lift on one round, fired ten, 3040fps. so about max.
have a few 85gr to try, and see how the go for speed. hoping for 2850ish.
