Hello everyone,
I recently took ownership of a very nice Eddystone M1917 rifle that was lightly sporterized (front end of the stock chopped back) but otherwise left alone. I am sourcing some parts to restore her to her complete military trim again.
I have a friend who is skilled in wood working and is interested in taking on the task of splicing on a replacement fore end along with in-letting for the barrel. I am, however, unable to find measurement details for the width and length of the fore end as well as close up pictures to show case the contouring and shape. If someone has an M1917, would they be able to do me a service and post some measurements and pictures of the fore end, from the lower band area and forward, so that I can pass them on to my friend ?
On a related note, I have been eager to take this rifle out to the range to see how well she can shoot. As I just recently moved to Alberta, I am curious if someone can recommend a range, near Calgary, that is accepting members and is not overly expensive to join ?
Thanks for the help everyone
