Default I've owned them all now.

The 308 family, that is. With the purchase of a 7-08 today, I have or have had the entire commercial .308 based family in my posession.

Next goal, to take big game with every bullet diameter from 6mm to 375 before I am 30.

Any other gun guys think of silly obsessive things like this to use up brain space?

Even a 338 federal? Not positive but I'm pretty sure that's a newer cartridge based off the good old 308 win!.....also a clambering I have been contemplating!!

358 win too?

Mike

Default .308 family

A very accurate family, that is for sure!

I have had 2 338 federals. A tikka and a ruger frontier.

243 was my first centre fire, ruger 77
260 in a model 7
7-08 in an x-bolt
308 in a model 7, and in a savage 99
338 federal as mentioned above
358 win in a rebarreled Stevens 200

Now what to do? Fill it out with the wildcats perhaps? Hmm.

That's a lovely family, and one of my favorites. So far, I have only had the .308, .243, and my favorite step child the 7mm08. I think a .338 Federal may be in my future.

I've sold most of them, but not one I didn't like.

Good job, I've had them all but the 358.

I have had all the commercial '06 family though.

25-06, 270, 280(OK, it's not exactly a necked down '06), 30-06, 338-06 and 35 Whelen.

22-243 is quite the round and is gaining popularity

you could go for the rimmed versions 307 and 356

I've only got 277, 8mm and 9.3mm left.

I can't see myself building anything off the 308 case as a wildcat, except for maybe the 22-243. Might just have to build one of those that is similar in dimensions to my 6.5-06

Does a snake poop close to the ground hehe

You can add one that is also commercial, well I guess proprietory in that I think only Magnum Arms supplys ammo for it - .270 Sabi. Its essentially a rendition of the .270-308 wildcat but correctly headstamped brass and loaded ammo are available.

Here is some info: http://www.sabirifles.co.za/270sabi.htm

The 7-08 will interest you even more once you play (lots) with it. I love mine like a very good old whisky, topped right up!

Just sitting here over coffee before going hunting and your post caught my eye. Really great concept. My question...have you hunted with all of them, and harvested enough with each one, to pick a favorite and why? Thanks, I'm interested in hearing how much difference, if any, you saw.

I was thinking you didn't have them all, but the 22-250 is based off the 250 Savage case I guess, hence the 250

And as I often quote the words of Mr Prestash from Trail, "You can't own them all at once, but you can own them all once."
