My winter Duratrac's are studded, if it helps I sure don't notice it but they are not the best tire on ice in the first place.

Doubt I would bother with them again

I am on my second set, the first set lost 80% of the studs within 25 k, Kal tire replaced them under warranty. The second set is starting to loose studs with less than 20k. The tires work great, it just sucks loosing the studs, is this normal? Or crap tires.

I had studded hak's on mine. No stud issues till I was out playing in the deep snow. Toss on a set of chains and you can watch your studs pop out...

I ended up getting a set of Cooper M&S (studded) So far, I like them.
I can hear the studs at low speed (starting/stopping) but it’s not bad and I don’t notice any more road noise at highway speeds as compared to the Cooper S/T MAXX I run the rest of the year.
I’ve only had them on a little bit of snow and ice since getting them; the difference in traction/braking is night and day. Looking forward to putting them to the test when the weather takes a turn for the worse later this week.
