Default Birthday gopher hunt location

I’m going to try and get my oldest son out to stack up a pile of gophers for his 13th birthday a week from this Sunday. I’ve got two problems the big one is location to go to. We now live in the SE part of Calgary and moving from northern Alberta I don’t know anyone down here. Two I haven’t had any time to go out and look for a landowner who has a gopher problem and is willing to let us on his land. Not an excuse but family responsibilities ( Twin boy’s about to turn 2) and work have keep me from exploring the area.

I know it’s a big ask of anyone but if someone could point me in the right direction shoot me a PM. I’m willing to travel to make a good day out of it for him

Take him to a pheasant release site and go for a walk. That might be better

Great idea but it looks like they don’t release them until mid October might try our hand at getting some ducks and a goose or two.

I think most are hibernating by now, they do it quite early.

Rabbit, grouse or migratory bird hunt will likely be far more successful. I love gopher shooting but by the end of August most are back in hibernation, except for some juvenile males, by now you would have trouble finding a few, even if the grass isn't too tall.
