Default Deer shot gun

Just wondering how many of you guys use a 12 guage on a deer and have had a good kill with it using buck shot and what size?

I'm wondering is 00 buckshot would make a good kill up to 50 yards on a whitetail?

Thanks guys

00 buck shot is .33 caliber I do believe so I think it is legal, but I would use slugs for better knock down power,

in a shotgun the diameter is not of a legal issue, many people use it but i do not, I much prefer a slug.

One smaller doe taken with buckshot, won't convince me to hunt deer with buckshot, when there are better options, such as slugs.

Yes, I found it interesting it wasn't about the deer it was about how effective it is I don't think it's totally enough though either.

do some patterning with buckshot on a rifle target at 50 yards and I'm sure that you will find that it is not effective at that range. You might get one or two hits on paper at that range and the energy per pellet is pretty low.
