Default New to reloading

Hey everyone, so my wife surprised me today with a Rock Chucker Supreme Reloading Kit for my birthday ( not sure what i did to deserve this haha) A good friend recommended IMR 4895 for powder or varget. I can't find either anywhere. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your kit should have come with a reloading manual.

You'll have to decide what bullet construction and weight you want to use for your purpose, then pick one of the powders listed in the manual.

Very lucky guy! What chambering(s) are You loading for, do you have an idea of what brand of bullets do you think you want to use? You may be limited by what you can find now. I have manuals for many brands I'd be happy to make you some copies if they are for the bullets you want to load and give you some ideas on powder. I'm just In Langdon if you need a hand with anything. Not too sure how much Experiance you have with reloading but there are some great loading videos on youtube. I found the Lee manual a great place to start. Hear good things about the Lyman manuals as well for a place to start.
Use the search function as well to find many, many threads on loading.

Good luck. Reloading is a lot fun and very rewarding.

oops I had meant to quote the OP.

Lucky as far as his wife buying him a reloading kit.

To the OP, let us know what you are shooting as far as a chambering and what bullets you are thinking of loading and we can help you out.
Also have a look here:http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/
It will give you a number of ideas for powder as well.

It really all depends on what cartridge you are looking at. There is tons of powder options and just because it works in his rifle, doesn't mean it will work in yours.

More info would really help.
