Default Whitefish - Bow River

Are they more prominent in the NW? Even in the winter? Do they stack up? What sort of spinning tackle can they be caught on? Small spinners? Are they in deep slow water in the winter? Bowmont seems like there should be some fish in the winter if the NW is gonna be productive its gotta be up by the dam or bowmont.

Want to try to catch some in the NW (if possible). Any help is appreciated.

ive always found that using a flasher with a wire wrap about 2-3 feet behind it worked the best for whites in the rivers/ streams

I've had the best of luck all year round down at the Bearspaw Dam, right in the spill way they seem to school up. I was using pink dynamites and prince nymphs, but I know you can catch em on panther martins I used to bounce off the bottom. And it's probably a good time now, cause all the whitefish will be pushin their way back up the bow in the next few weeks to a month, and thats when you get to see those big ol' pike right on their heels aswell.
