Default Arizona E-Z Fletch

I seem to be having a problem with vane spacing. Sometimes they come out of the jig with a perfect 120 degree spacing and other times they come out not spaced properly???? Does anyone have any tricks to help correct this? Do you think not having the vanes spaced perfectly affects accuracy? I don't seem to see a difference other than they look like sh**.

The trick I've found with mine is to give it a twist...

Close up the 3 "leaves", and slid on the cap to lock the leaves. Then give it a couple (2-3) gentle twists, with the final twisting direction in the rotation of the natural helical of the leaves....

This seems to allow the base of the vane to slid on the wet glue and align itself very good with the helical direction.

Twist by holding the cap and bottom of the fletcher.

J.

Make sure you put the cap on properly or you will not get even spacing.... if you do it properly they will do an awesome job all the time.....

Hmmmmm...... I've tried putting very little pressure on the cap but still once in a while they still space funny. How much pressure is everyone using? I'm thinking it's the nut behind the wheel at this point lol. Thanks for the info guys.

You don't happen to have a broken leaf, or a pin thats half out by chance? I've had mine for probably 5 years, and I don't think I've ever had an arrow come out of it that wasn't spaced properly. Only issue I've had is the occasional fletch that gets glued on further down the shaft from the others, usually due to me being in a hurry...

One more thing to check...

Look at the base of the veins to see if some curl to the left or right or run
fairly streight.

Best I can explain is pick out three veins hold each one base up (one at a
time) does the base lean left right or centered looking down the length of it?

Just one more thing to check out.

Reason I mentioned this is because I found some of my blazers ran diff. mainly
because they were not cut off the same on the front end at the factory.
Some (looking down on them) were cut off at the front at this angle /
others were cut off at the front like this \ and some showed little angle at all
either way. It had an effect on the amount or lack of amount of natural curl
to the vein even when in the jig.

So what I do is out of a box of 100 blazers I pick out 3 veins that match just
before I start to set up the jig. I'm using a bitzen burger now used to use a
JoJan mult, either way whatever jig you need to have matched veins to get
good results.

I just bought mine 2 weeks ago at bass pro. It's the new blue version and the cap indexes with the 3 leaves correcting the issue talked About above, which also prevents the turning it 2 times bit.

Is it possible, that you are using the old model, that is designed for aluminum shafts? pretty hard to go wrong with one of these.
