Default Wilmore sheep hunt cut short

Here are a few before and after pics of our trip to Wilmore. Got back last night, had to pull out a couple days early cause the snow just wouldn't stop!

Still had a great couple days in this amazing wilderness!

No we are not gonna head back in. We plan on doing some elk hunting in 350 for a few days. Plus we learned that the weather network isn't always reliable ha! Even if it worms up the trails would be a mess up there for a couple days with 18 inches of snow on them. That makes for a lot of drying clothes by the fire and waiting for horses to feed through all the snow.

Great pictures, thanks for sharing!

How did you like the TIPI?
What kind/size is it and how much does it weigh?
I'm assuming (hope) you had a wood burning stove inside.

The tent worked great!, its about 20ft diameter, lots of room to stand up and sleep 3-4 guys.

It only weighs 20 pounds (when dry haha!)

And yeah we had stove in the middle and you run the pipe straight out the top beside the pole. Works great!

Great for packing, highly recomended!

What brand is yours?

My 12X14X5ft. wall tent weighs 61 lbs in the bag. That's a BIG top pack for a horse.
If these TIPI's weigh 20 lbs and have similiar room they might make sense for packing in camps.

THe brand is TipiTent

Check out the adds in the back of Alberta Outdoorsman Magazine

The tent makes a great top pack. We dont bring the middle pole up, just find a pole up in camp or cut one down to size

Thanks for the info. and advice.
Do you have any more pictures of the inside with gear and bedrolls?

After spending 4 rainy/snowy days in a nylon tent a couple weeks ago this Tipi looks pretty interesting.
