Interesting asked about them about reloading supplies a couple of months ago and they said no. Not going to have them. Good to have another option for sourcing components.

I think the Hodgdon 1 pounders were marked $59.99 ... I went over to WSS later and the chap at the gun counter said their Varget was $52.00. Not a threat to WSS yet.

I would way rather buy powder from the bulletman in Edmonton. He was sourcing powder and helping everyone out during the crunch. He likely has a bunch leftover. I think it's a bit of a hobby. Send him a pm if you need powder and are in Edmonton area.

We were in there on Friday. $55-$59/lb for powder, holy jack you up like you're on the auto hoist price gouging!

I'll buy my 8 lbers from Higgy thanks, the last shipment came in at under $41/lb.! That's with free shipping(>24lbs.) and my share of the hazmat fee included.(split 4 ways)

Gone are the days of sub $30 pounds of powder I'm afraid.

Canadian Tire has crazy mark up. This experiment with hunting stuff will be short lived I am afraid. Hunting crowd is pretty cost savey and everything at CT is 10-30% higher than Cabelas or WSS. Most of it is cheap stuff anyway.

CT makes a huge profit on all the crappy Chinese junk they sell and then mark it down 30% so everyone thinks they are getting a great deal.

I will see if I can find a link to an article I read a couple of years ago that said that CT is the single biggest retail importer for China in Canada. That says something when everything in a dollar store is cheap imported junk.

Not a lover of CT.

The cdn tire in shawneesy Calgary has been selling powder and components for awhile now, they have dies as well. The price of the powder was the same at cabelas at 51.99 a pound with some of the other less popular powders around the $40 mark. Expensive yes but still yet another option.

I agree with you, they do however have some good sales on their name brand tools every now and then. And when you look at the price of some of their guns, they're better priced than wholesale and cabelas. It really depends on the particular brand though.

Seems weird, Canadian Tire selling something not made in China?

Some of their guns are priced nicely. I found a Ruger 1022 Williams Exclusive (20" barrel with fire sight fiber optic sights, no barrel band) for $299.99
