Default Beretta CX4 Storm - Thoughts ?

I am thinking of buying something new and was looking at the Beretta CX4 Storm. Wondering if anyone has any thoughts / reviews ? Any thoughts on what kinds of accessories to install on it? Thanks !

I had a storm carbine for a short while.
Positives:
-It ran smooth and was fairly accurate.
-Cheap to shoot
-less notice than most centerfires
-fun plinker

On the downside:
-the triggers suck
-the trigger assembly housing is plastic - I don't like plastic in that sort of area.
(Some of the earliest ones cracked this housing)
-fairly useless

I enjoy plinking with mine. It is very reliable, lightweight and generally fun and cheap to shoot. The trigger has a lot of creep but it is getting a bit smoother as I put more rounds through it.
If you buy one don't get one of those Tasco TRS-25 sights, I tried one and it is junk.

I'm glad I bought it and plan to hang on to it long term. I may try the Sierra Papa trigger upgrade at some point.

My buddy bought one, I've had the chance to shoot it quite a bit over the last couple of years.

They look a little space age-y, and have a lot of plastic on them, but that's about all I would say that some wouldn't like about them (unless you don't mind the look, I personally don't hate it).

It's super reliable (waaaay better than my other buddy's sub 2000), it's surprisingly accurate, it feels nice to shoot, it takes Glock mags, etc.

I like them

Default i like em!

I was not aware that there a glock mag version. Two beretta mags, but not glock. Even cooler if so.
IMO, get the NR version. Too much fun to be restricted to a range.

I would track down a Thureon Defense 9mm over a storm.

Sorry, I should have haha.

I find the TD9 is a better feeling gun. AR platform based. All metal, really easy to break down. Lots of AR parts are compatible (triggers, rails, accessories, etc). And depending on what type you get, takes a variety of mags. I really like that my TD9mm takes glock mags, that I can also use with the glock 9mm

To me, the Storm felt like a toy gun, where as the TD felt like a real gun.

They are a little harder to find, and a bit more expensive, but I love mine. If you are ever in Calgary, and want to take a look at it, feel free to msg me.

Dave

What kind of range do these rifles have? What would they be compared to in performance caliber wise?

9mm out of a rifle barrel would be about in or around a 38 special from a lever. .38 would have the edge. Minute of milk jug at 100 yards. The lever would be more accurate

They're a reasonable length barrel rifle in the 9mm luger pistol cartridge, with mediocre sights. I've seen people attempt to shoot them out to 200ish yards with varying amounts of success...

What are you hoping for?

Just trying to figure out if it is just a range gun or could be used for other things. Thx for the info.
