This is how I tie it... but disagree with the black comment - brown, black, purple, and of course olive are slayers

Here's a step by step of mine... (btw what would you guys think of me posting more step by steps of flies I like?)

#12 curved hook
8/0 red thread
white bead head
black marabou
small red wire
tip: use a toothbrush to roughen up the marabou between the ribbing

It is mostly technique rather than pattern. Most small to micro leeches can be fishes "catatonically" under a bung.

cut-off/grind off the toothbrush bristles.glue on a velgro strip[dollar stores]sell them 12 @$1.00 last longer,does a better job.imo

Black and purple leeches are my go to fly for lakes. Trout cannot resist!

Though ive never been a big fan of leeches, but have used the Black egg sucking,with some sucess, and also olive, but never purple, so i guess ill have to tie up some. thankyou.
