Default Knots to use

Just a quick question. I have been using an improved clinch for sometime and maybe it's my inexperience or fat fingers but I am finding it sometimes time consuming to tie. Just came across the Davy knot and it seems easier to tie and even stronger with the double Davy. What is everyone's opinion on what knot to use

For a loop, I use a non-slip mono loop.

For flies, depending on the eye size of the hook, I'll use either a palomar knot or a pitzen / Eugene knot.

For Line to Line knots, I'll use a loop to loop knot, or a double surgeon's knot.

Enjoy

I too use a Improved Clinch Knot for my flies and will find it somewhat a bit a challenge to see what I am doing as I get a wee bit older. 1.50 magnification cheap reading glasses helps.

The last two years I have tied to the end of my tippet a "Mustad" size 3 pre-hook that will go through the fly eyelet. This is a permanent set up and I change out flys in seconds, no longer continuing to tie a fly on every time. I just hook it through and if works perfect.
