Those of you loading 45-70??

I have a pedersoli (new) and am planning on using 405 cast lead projectiles. Going by the Load data for a trap door type reload (only one I could find with IMR3031 and. 405gr bullet) Min. Is 45.5 gr of 3031 which gives approx 1597 fts at approx 17,300 cup. Now the Max they show is 48.5 gr of 3031 which is approx 1706 at 21,000cup. This gun can handle more than the old trap doors and are rated at 29,000cup but are all tested to 35,000, I have no plans to go past about 25,000 however 50gr of 3031 looks like it will be a compressed load. Has anyone played with the components I listed.

Actually,,,I think 1600-1700 will be fast enough so I will make 10 at 45.5, 10 at 46.5, 10 at 47.5 and 10 at 48.5 and let the gun tell me. Please post comments though please.
