I got out on the weekend to try to fill my WT tag and when I got to the area on friday after noon...I knew it was going to be a bussy weekend....and that was a understatement!!!!
I decided to walk a few cutlines on friday afternoon and every 10 min I was pasted by quads...to be expected on crown land!!! I didnt see much as the weather was not the greatest...wet snow, so I decided to set up my ground blind. At last light saw a nice little 3x3 walk by me at about 20yrds!!!
So on saturday I sat up my climber stand on a great crossing but no bucks...I sat from 730 to 1200 and decided it was time to try something else...so I went back to the truck for a snack
I decided to do what most guys were doing and take my quad and cruse the cutline!!! After about 1 1/2 hrs of quading I decided to stop where I saw some tracks where a deer crossed!!!
I sat up about 50 yrds from the tracks where a deer had crossed earlier that day....I rattled and gave a few grunts and within 5 min out came this buck.....I could not belive my eyes!!!!
As I lifted my gun I could see he was a nice buck ..... One shot from my .243 and he droped right where he stood!!! Not knowing how big this deer realy was I was super excited when I walked up to it.....I is my biggest deer to date!!!!!
I am a now a believer that rattling and calling works!!!!
