If you haven't already, I'd be putting a tender on it and possibly get a few more years out of it..

You can do the above. However, you should also look at the LiFePO3 batteries for atvs/utvs.

Or you coudl look at a capacitor mod. Those are pretty cool. Don't have to worry about them freezing. They deliver full power at -65C.

The tender Idea is a good one but honestly if the battery is done , go back to the dealer and get a new battery and be done with it. They aren't that expensive and the tender won't help you on the trail if you are working with a weak battery and have to use your winch at all. Weigh the cost of the battery with the reliability factor over the next few years.

Trickle charge it and Put it on a load tester. If it's weak, get a new one. Polaris batteries aren't great. I get jobber replacements from the dealer here. They're cheaper and last as long as oem.
If you want the best head to battery world and ask them what they have.

If a battery shows an sign of weakness. It's replaced immediately. They don't heal themselves. And they only get worse. Very important component when it comes to getting out of the bush.

I'd look for a good quality jobber. Battery world would be a great place to start.

If you've got some money burning a hole in your pocket check out AntiGravity batteries. Since you are in Stony Plain, you can order them at Re-cycle. They've actually come down in price since I replaced the lead/acid one in my Yamaha Big Bear a few years ago.

Most guys I know change out to an automotive battery, if they have the room. I put a agm automotive battery in my terryx and it works awesome.
Spent an hour last weekend in the middle of a creek up to mid thigh after I broke threw the ice at a trail crossing. Stalled it out, couldn't get it started again, spent an hour breaking ice and HARD winching. Got it out, cranked right over until she fired up. Wouldn't have done that with a regular utv battery. Saved my ass because I was 10km from the cabin by myself, had me a little bit worried. Just glad it was on Sunday and not Monday at -35.
Spend the money on the best battery you can find to fit the location, or modify the location to fit.

Tender the battery, then test the battery to see where its at. Let it sit for a couple days to see if it holds a charge then test again. If it is holding a good charge battery will be good to go.
Many throw batteries out or give up on them long before they are done. Lots of them just need a little TLC. Done it many times with very good success. m2c.

Build a cradle and put a big automotive battery in! Lots of room on the rangers to do it!

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Tough to use a tender as it lives in an unpowered shed.

Don't cheap out when it comes to batteries. Deep cycle all day long. Odyssey should have one for you. I get mine from Battery World on the west end, top notch service. They cost a bit more but last a lot longer than a conventional battery. Once you use one you will never go back

It's also great to use one of these Chargers to charge you deep cycle battery once in a while every so many months it will charge it up at the correct speed and top off your battery . You can select from deep cycle or normal car battery . Deep cycle battery are the way to go they can be drained and recharged many many times and it won't hurt the battery , you can't do that with regular car battery .

The charger I use .

Here is the link for yellow top optima
