Someone who makes laws about firearms should be knowledgeable about firearms.
Can you imagine someone who has never held a driver's license put in a position to create traffic laws?

I'd also be OK with an opt-out clause, but MP's choosing this would not be allowed to participate in voting on any firearms-related legislation.

My wife just signed the petition. I was surprised to see that only 909 people had signed across Canada before she signed.
