Default Snowy day project with new to me 20 gauge loader

Instead of chasing roosters in this snow I finally set up the Mec 600 on the bench and started some reloads. Ed or Bill must have spent a lot of time setting this loader up before selling it for the only crimps I have seen better are factory loads. 15.4 grains of Unique under 7/8 ounces of lead in brand new WWAA hulls and wads primed with a 209 should be right on 1200 fps.
Tomorrow if the snow stops we will test them on those cagey roosters that have been doing a lot of running lately. At least with fresh powder we can track them from cover to cover to know which way they went until the dogs can sandwich them and force them up out of the cat tails.

Where did you find the Unique? I ran out a year ago and called all over looking for some.

Default had 2 pounds of Unique sitting around

Seems all the Alliant powders are getting hard to find Hummason and Higginson are both out of stock. I will check in with Peter when I get into the second can. Doing 28 gauge for next little while for which I use longshot.

Higginson doesn't deal in Aliant, dunno about Humannson.

I picked up 5 pounds of Unique from Wholesale late last summer.

Default Hummason

Nice score Dick, hummason wrote me last week to say they were out of stock on Unique. I think I have enough to get by for this year but if I see or hear of an 8 pound jug will grab it for more 20 gauge shells. slow burn high power curve so a nice small bore Powder.

The order that Wholesale received last summer helped to top up many people's supplies of Alliant powder. I picked up 10lbs of R-22, kept 5 for myself, 3 for a friend, and sold 2 to another AO member. It may be quite a while before they will receive another large order like that one.
Thankfully Universal is once again available , so I purchased two 8lb containers for loading 28 gauge target loads. That should last me at least a year or so.
