Default Bullet mold designs seem archaic

Does anyone know why it's impossible to find a bullet mold with a secant ogive?
Most cast designs are far from being ballistically efficient and I can't figure out why mold manufacturers don't produce more aerodynamic shapes.

The only thing I can think of is that they need more weight forward in order to reduce overall length.

I may be wrong but it likely has to do with the fact that an unjacketed bullet cannot be pushed fast enough to take advantage of the secant ogive .

Agreed. That is why jacket bullets came to be .if you need speed go jacketed .

One reason for more ballistic efficiency in cast bullets is reduced wind drift at long range.

most, if not all of the accurate bullet designs for cast rifle bullets have the nose of the bullet almost touching the lands of the rifling in the barrel far beyond the throat. the reason for this is to ensure the bullet engages the rifling as concentrically as possible.

Bore riding near the front of the bullet is best, Bands fill the grooves. Paper patching can add velocity if you want a flatter trajectory. Typically lead has its place and that is slow and heavy.

While concentricity and close engagement to rifling are important in cast bullets - you will see pointed bullets of better ballistic coefficient shot by most Black Powder cartridge long range silhouette shooters in the winners circle nowadays.
Check out Boomers bullet molds by Leo Bumphrey of Regina - he has a wide following of serious competitors in Canada and the US.
