So I just finished up on a new gopher rifle build... now for load developments.
Anyone have any tips on finding a good load during the winter?
My thoughts right now would be to wait for a semi warm day and keep all the rounds inside a jacket until firing them.
I am not looking to make super hot rounds right now either, I am just interested in accurate loads.
Try to keep your trigger finger warm!
I normally don't try and work up loads seriously in the winter, just too much hassle.
I save it until spring , in the meantime run SAAMI specs ad id age loads if want t shot a new rifle.

that's pretty much what I am thinking right now too... just that on the other hand I have a rifle I have yet to try and a few pounds of powder and bullets...
common sense and playing it safe is telling me to try it out like you said with a light load then to do the full work up when its hot out.
Warm up one of those socks with the beads in the microwave oven. They are used for neck and joint pain and can be frozen or heated up. Throw one in a lunch bucket along with your ammo and go shooting. That, or use Varget.
