Default New addition to the 10/22

My first little rifle underwent some changes today. I love the rifle however I was never happy with the factory stock, it just didn't feel right shouldered. Not only that, but the factory fit was horrible, the mag sticks, and there was a large gap between the stock and the receiver. It also never came with swivel studs (I know these can be added).

So after reading up I decided to order a Hogue over moulded stock from Amazon. Today after giving it a thorough cleaning I installed it. I am quite happy now with how it is shoulders. The fit was nice and tight, much better then the factory stock.

Looks good, fit is important.

The Hogue looks more substantial and a better shape than the original. At some point you might want to bed the action?

Hogue stock was the first thing I did on mine as well.Just like you, it fit way better after that. Because it was more comfortable, I was shooting it better.
I put on the Zombie Hunter Green sock that they offered a little while ago just to be a little different but I like it way better now.

I am excited to take it to the range now. This rifle has seen a few improvements now, the tuffer buffer and a cheap utg rail and ring set also from Amazon. That scope is a Tasco 3-9 that Canadian Tire had on sale for $39.

Although it's still a $400 rifle, it feels more like a $700-800 rifle with these upgrades. I wish I would've done this sooner.

The stock was $100 on Amazon, that includes free shipping. Cabelas has them too for $109.

Yeah the rings are a bit high for my liking, but we will see how it performs.
