Default Fly fishing near Cochrane

Hi, I will be in Cochrane for a couple of weeks in late July and could use some advice about some trout fishing in the area.
Thanks

Grand Valley Creek has some very nice, secluded, holes upstream a ways where it goes into the forestry reserve (past perenoud park).

There's a few stocked ponds in Bragg Creek that are close by. Drive South of Cochrane on the 22, past the transcanada highway, past the traffic circle, until you get to a stop sign. Take a left at the stop sign and follow that road to a Tee intersection where you'll turn right. Along that road there's a few stocked ponds on your LHS - one at McLean Creek and another at Allen Bill pond.

You can try your luck in the elbow river as well. Same directions as above, but right before you get to the traffic circle mentioned you'll cross a bridge over the elbow. Directly after the bridge, pull off on the LHS of the road in a small dirt parking lot and you can access the elbow river from there.

There's also dogpound creek which is North of Cochrane along the 22. There's several access points, but probably the easiest to describe is to just drive North on the 22 until you come to a bridge over Dogpound creek and pull off into a small lot on the shoulder of the road.

Right in Cochrane is the bow river, however it won't have quite the density of fish as in the sections South of Calgary.

That's probably a good start for you.

Some great fly fishing right on the Bow in town. It's still running pretty high and dirty but should be cleared up in a couple weeks.
