Lake newell

anyone been out to newell? thinking about heading there saturday. where do you launch the boat. where to find some fish. any info would be great. thanks

Crazy, the easiest launch to find is at the Kinbrook Island Park. Just follow the signs, its located on the east side of the lake. As far as the fishin goes, shes a relatively featureless reservoir, {the walleye can be tough goin till you find em} sort-of, but the pike are in post spawn now and should be pretty willing to giver, and fairly easy to find. Hint: find and stop by the EID office, and pick up a map of the lake, it shows alot of structure, as well as depths and will give you some definate starting points. You can also get maps of Crawling Valley there as well. Good luck.

Hey Crazy! I talked with a guy today (Thursday) that fished Newell yesterday. He landed some big Pike, and had one snap off on him with 30lb test! He also said he helped a guy land a 10+lb Walleye!

He said (I've never been there) that he fished from shore where the canal comes in? The canal comes in form the Bow River. Anyway, it's supposed to be good stuff right now!
