Here is the big guy we got in the Birch Mountains in 2004. We dropped him at almost duskabout 25 km's from camp. He is just under 60 inches. A lot more work involved when you dropsomething that big. Would like to post more pic'sbut the files are too large.

Not my moose but a good friend of myn shot a nice young bull with his muzzleloader recently. I don't think he'll mind me posting this as it is a great pic of a happy hunter with a fine animal.

My 2007 Moose
Close slopeshunter, got him in the Yukon. Hooked up with a couple of Yukon residents. Saw 9 or 10 bulls over 55", including one at least 75". My first time up there and what a great experience. All of the Yukoners I met only want to take "meat" bulls.....and typically turn down the bigger ones.
Here's hoping you all have a great season.

Here's mine from last year.
He went 47" with 23 points, I forget the actual score it won the horn night1st place in Ft Mc and was about 85% of whatever the B&C minimum was.

Heres a terrible scaned photo of the only moose I've ever taken and the only time I've ever hunted moose. Knight 50 Cal did the trick at 75 yds. Northeastern Minnesota 2002.

Here are a couple more moose photos, the first is a true father son effort out of 208. The second was my 45" brute from GP. I "foolishly" dropped him back 7km from the truck, by myself in failing light with an impending snowstorm....I'd do it all over again.(I included the second photo if to show the body size, it was a monster!!!)

Here's my buddy's young bull and my cow from last year.
And the Cutco knife that skinned them both!
Just finishing off the roasts now - both were delicious.

Mine's a serrated edge, and I like it just fine!
Used it on 2 moose, a couple of deer and an antelope last year, and it's still very sharp - although not as sharp as brand new. After this season, I might just send it back for a sharpening.
I was so impressed, I bought a few knives for the kitchen for the little lady.

X2 on the Cutco's. I have never seen a knife perform as well on moose hide and hair. I have the serrated drop point as well.

Loren's '06 moose. Yeah, I've had a feed of those Yukon brutes and I much prefer the young ones. He took it with iron sights in failing light at about 40 yards. The only shot he had was a head shot, it folded like a virgin on vodka.

Wow...sweet looking moose. Congratulations. I was hoping to have a picture like that with me in it this week but some very heavy snow south of Faro chased us out of the Pelly Mountains and I ended up coming home early after only hunting four days. Hopefully I can get back next year. That one of yours would be a dream moose for me.
Glad the book helped out. I think it has the best chapter on judging moose that I've ever read.
