In reading the regs I can not determine if someone can shoot a wolf on crown land and not savage the pelt. The regs refer to shooting wolfs on privately owned land and is not legally necessary to salvage the pelt.
Therefore, I'm assumming on crown land you need to salvage the pelt.
I heard of someone shooting a wolf this year and found out that Halfords Hide would not even take the pelt.
