Yes sorry should have made that a bit clearer. I'll be heading north chasing whitetails. The other hunters don't bother me cause we got permission on some private that no one else has. Thanks for all the replys.

Would anyone be willing to elaborate on how the phases of the moon affect the November rut?

Just more mid day movement with a full moon.

Never found that to be true. More movement for sure, but it happens at night unless there is cloud cover.

Depending on how early you have to book your days off I would worry more about the weather. If you cant book late enough to catch yourself a cold front then I would spread those days out and make 3-4 long weekends, which in my experience is more effective that betting the farm on one week that might have you hunting crunchy snow, a full moon with clear sky's, warm weather, or cornflake leaves the whole time.

I agree most happens at night during the full moon and less morning and evening movement. But, they don't stay bedded all day. They will get up mid day more so when there is a full moon from my experience.

Hunting mostly within the timber, I find that they will be up and moving in the late morning until afternoon almost any day you please. I probably shoot at least 80% of my animals between 10am and 2 PM.

Waiting for them to come out in the open, I don't do it enough to be much of an authority on their habits, but within the habitat that they spend the majority of their day, any difference in game activity I've ever noticed is related directly to weather and rut.
