Default Hinton Airport Area Cat

I was out hunting a two weeks ago and I drove past this cat and it came out behind my truck. He just hung out on the road there for about 20 minutes not even caring if I was there. It was vocalizing in the chirp noises they do so it makes me wonder if there was another one close by.

He disappeared into the bush and I drove up the road about half a kilometer and I got out of the truck to shoot a ruffy. Got it and I listened for others and I only saw the one. I walked back to the truck and the cougar crossed the road in front of me maybe 50m away. Maybe it was hunting me. I aslo saw a cougar on the same road 2 years ago.

Sorry the pics aren't great but thought I should share.

That looks like a pretty tame cat. Probably too tame.

There's an open season for them and the tags are cheap . You could have saved the lives of 50 plus dear this year.

Nice pics though , thanks for sharing.

Default Cougar

They are around, and there are lots of them. I shot one on our property over thanksgiving. He was not scared of the 4 of us waving our arms and yelling.
He was 15 yards away, when he died. It was a chilling experience that occurred over 10 minutes. F&W officer mentioned that the numbers are increasing. And that they seem to have no fear of humans.

You are severly mistaken... Re-read the regs, the season opened over a month ago.
