I think Clay at Prophet River got one in from the Ruger custom shop when he ordered mine in 257 Roberts IIRC?? that was 8 or so years ago

these were a limited run done a couple (few?) years ago for Lee Newton (200 units, I think). We managed to get about 16 of them for Canada. They didn't last long in our inventory.

Thank you very much for info.
Just read about Joe Clayton who was asked by the Ruger family in 1983 to write a book on the Ruger # 1. Joe had a "sizeable" private collection of # 1's. Lee Newton got a build going of 125 rifles , all .280 AI serial #'s JDC-001 to JDC -125 to honor Joe Clayton. Joe got the first 3. Later another 30 were built that were supposed to have Ruger serial #'s but ended up with JDC-126 to JDC-155 . The rifles had presentation quality walnut wood and 25" barrels.

The ones we sold had very nice wood and a few were likely even excellent. There should be 16 in Canada somewhere, maybe a few more if anybody else imported a few.

Were those 1A's or 1B's?
A friend just showed me a pic of a used 1A that he hesitated on and it was sold when he went back! LOL
