Default Gunsmiths?

My dad is looking for a gunsmith in or around the calgary area. We are willing to go to Edmonton, but thats about as far as we want to travel. So any info on RELIABLE gunsmiths will be appreciated, and if you could post some links to there websites would also be appreciated.

My dads thinking of buying a remington 700 sps, have a shilen barrel put on, trigger job or buy whole new trigger, putting a bell and carlson stock on, having it bedded, and free floated.

I've mailed LOTS of stuff to gunsmiths. In fact I was commenting to someone the other day that my main hunting rifle is more traveled than I am. Don't be afraid of a long distance relationship if you pick the right one.

I'd agree. That's more than a bit of minor gunsmithing you're talking about there. I just shipped a rifle up to Corlane's in Dawson Creek for the same type of work. It's no big deal to ship a rifle. Don't pick a custom rifle maker based soley on distance away.

They do really good work, I have used them a few times myself. Rick at ATR also does good work and I've used him as well.

No. I will PM you his contact info Monday. He works in conjunction with Mick McPhee. Mick does the machine work and Mitch does the bedding, painting and finish work.
