I thinned out my selection and have only one now.
It's a Tikka .300 Win mag with wood stock and a 4 round detachable magazine.
Except for a couple a times it has knocked over everything i have aimed at.
It is an excellent rifle and very accurate. It has a Leupy FXIII 6x42 on it.

I have the exact scope on my Ruger 10/22 aswell.

Last season I took my new NEF handi rifle in .243win topped with a BSA catseye 4-14x44mm and took a nice little buck.
Other than that I use my mossberg ATR 100 Night train in .308win with Barska 4-16x50 or my Ruger77 in 350 rem mag with Bushnell 3-9x40 (serious overkill so I usually leave it at home).
Used to use a Browning BAR in .270 but I sold that one last summer.
I just bought a Traditions .50cal in-line magnum muzzle loader and am hoping to take it out this fall.

I use

LH Browning Abolt Stainless Stalker in .30-06 - VX III 1.75-6x32
LH Browning Abolt Medallion in .25-06 with BOSS VX III 3.5-10x40
LH Savage model 14 american classic in .223 Vari X III 4.5-14-40 AO
LH CZ 452 Lux in .22lr Awesome factory iron sights.

Browning BPS 20gauge 3" 26"
Rem 1100 20guage 2 3/4" 26"

I have yet to find my favorite rifle though and more are on the list to get. I've been dreaming of something custom for much too long but I'm still unsure of what I should get... way tooo many choices these days fella's and the worst thing is, you can't eliminate any of them because they simply all work**

Well let me think - anything magnum is out - perhaps I should join the short action crowd? That means I'm looking at 243/260/7mm08/308/.284/ or a 338 federal? Hmm.... Anyhow yea I hunt with the previously mentioned and wish I had some of the few just listed.

I only hunt deer in the bush so my choices are simpler than most. My main rifle is a Marlin 336 in .35 Remington with a Weaver 2 1/2X scope and this year I have added a Marlin 336 in .32 WS with a Williams receiver sight. I also intend to take my Thompson Centre Hawken flint lock for a walk this year

Default hunting rifle

Safes are full, but my go-to rifle is a Baikal IZH 94 in Swedish Mauser/12. Have 85 gr hp with xxxgrains of unique for small game, 85 gr hp with 4350 for medium size/varmints, and 120 gr sp for big game. All shoot to the same POA at the appropriate range, and the shottie is always ready to pitch in..........

The springfield scout goes in the canoe/kayak or under the car seat when the baikal stays home.........

Just got a BRNO multi barrel set that may take over though........

Go to rifle is a ruger m77 in .280 rem. Pretty sure it will get less use once the Cooper Jackson hunter gets here. The new rifle is chambered in .280 AI. I also have a model 70 in 30-06 and a prohunter in .243. I use them all but the .280 sees the most use.

Default The choice

I found I have settled on two. First is an custom 8 mm rem on an rem 700 action, the other is an 270 WSM in an 8700 kimber M.

But the 264 in a win mod 70 does find its way to the front of the line every now and then.

When the mood strikes it could be a .58 Fraser River Hawken, a .577 Snider, or other such elcelectic thingy ( sometimes a .303 Brit ) , but my goto these days is a O/U 6.5X55 express gun rifle .

Just swapped the .300 Ultra for a Browning X-Bolt S/S .300 WSM. I had the guys at Corlane Sporting Goods/Rocky Mountain Rifles tweak it with a 2lb 6oz trigger, and their slimline muzzlebrake. Topped with a VXIII 4.5x14x40.

For the last few seasons I've used my Tikka T-3 s/s 270 WSM with a Leupold VXII 3X9X40.

I also have a Winchester M70 338 WM with a Burris straight 4X on it, and a Remington 700 ADL 30-06 with a Burris straight 6X on it.

30-06 is my dad's Favorite cartridge!!! I just had to let you know that one. but seriously it is one of the best all around cartridges and in a Tikka with a 50mm leupold thats a great set up you got.the 30-06 has taken most game in dad's house.my house the 270!

Mostly bow hunt,.... but I like the heft of a decent rifle, cold steel, warm walnut and the smell of gun powder, too! For most of my rifle hunting, most days,I honestly don't know what I'll carry until I open the safe. There are times when I'll carry a specific rifle for a period of time, but I reach for; .257 Roberts (2, Winchester and now Kimber), .338 Win (2, Winchester and Sako), .35 WCF model '95 Win, .375 H&H Ruger #1, .405 WCF model '95 Win, .416 Rigby Ruger #1 stainless, .458 Win model 70, .458 Lott Ruger #1.

That setup is UNETHICAL!!

I will be hunting with 2 rifles this upcoming season:

A 7X57 Ackley built on a Rem 700 action, Pacnor Barrel and McMillan stock
and
A 300 WSM in a Nosler 48
