Ruger American Ranch shorten stock?

Hi Fellas,

Finally received a 6.5 Grendel in Ruger American Ranch with plastic stock. Anyone shorten the stock? Out of the box it’s about 14” (length of pull) and I’d like to shorten it by an inch or so. At issue, it’s a hollow stock and the end recoil pad fits inside the stock, (kinda an internal cap). As the stock tapers I don’t think the internal cap will fit inside the shortened stock. Thinking I may need a new recoil pad that fits inside the stock.
Anyone messed with this? Don’t wanna restock it at this time, it’s gonna be a UTV, pickup.
