Default Trip Cancellation Insurance

Has anyone ever bought then used this insurance?

Curious as to process and how it went.

I believe that we used it once. The whole trip wasn't cancelled, but I think we missed one day and there were a number of flights booked the next day to get us there.

We now have a renewing policy every year for all travel for $200 per year. It covers a ton of different stuff.

I used it back in 1994. Family acute illness. Got back everything. Done fairly quickly once they received doctor's letter.

I’ve bought it before but never had to use it so I’m not much help.

Default credit card trip cancellation idea

since retiring we have been travelling international quite a bit and the topic of trip cancellation (and interruption) comes up every time we book, we have never purchased it and even if something should happen in the future we will still be ahead of the game, however, because you book these trips so far in advance it certainly is something to consider, currently we are looking at credit cards (visa, mastercard) that offer trip cancellation and interruption as a perk to using their card to book trip, when you google the topic several sites provide a detailed plus and minus review of these cards, and it makes sense to us to go this route in the future, the trip interruption insurance hit home for me last trip when out fishing I was bit by some kind of insect only to find complications in a tropical climate and was thinking of maybe cutting vacation short and getting medical attention at home than a 3rd world country hospital, fortunately all worked out (actually got great care at the hospital) and didn't need to go home early but even if you are healthy one obviously can't predict what can happen - anyways, my two cents worth
