I love my Stavens. You may want to put a little weight in it. It could have a little bite as they are fairly light in the front end.
Let us know how it shoots.

I've heard guys have had good luck using expanding foam and then shaving it down to reduce the hollowness and cheap feel of the stock

Got out to the range yesterday, Cleaned the bore before I went. Bore Sighted it at the 25yrd range then test fired a round, adjusted the scope and shot 2 more back to back:

After letting the barrel cool down, I then set up a target at 100yrds and shot 3 rounds back to back:

Not to bad I think for factory ammo and a friggin heavy factory sit trigger!! Going to lighten the trigger and try again in a few days! These Stevens may be cheap and ugly.......but they sure don't act it!!!!

Not bad at all, there are a few things you can do to tighten up that group even more. Looks like you got a keeper

Thanks!! Yeah, after I get a few rounds through it i'm going to get dies and all the other goodies for it!! I already have one of these in 243win, it shot pretty sweet as well right out of the box....even better now that it eats handloads!!!!

I have to admit I browsed a few sights looking at prices, I could always use a new rifle and for the price and how they shoot why not

I was going to do the trigger in my Stevens 22-250 myself, I have the instructions, but decided on just buying the Timney instead. It cost me about $120 with the shipping direct from Timney but now with the strong Canadian dollar it should be less than that. I think that it was money well spent.
