Absolutely without a doubt to close friends and family I would and do.
I had a brand new 2011 Ford F-350 as my 'nice' truck and lent it to a buddy I worked with when his truck crapped out so he could work.
Same thing when my Bosses truck crapped out.
I'll lend it to you ONCE. If it comes back good, you get it again.
If not, then you don't. Plain and simple.
I lent my jet boat to a now buddy whom I met twice at the time to go retrieve his because he was stuck.
I had to work and he needed a way up there. That was 3-4 years ago and now we race together and are great friends. He still talks about how much he appreciated that gesture. I don't go lending my baby out often, but have a pretty good judge of character of who will appreciate it.
To answer your question, to a random person, nope. But I would certainly go help them because that's just what neighbors do.

It's not so much the truck I don't want to lend, its the insurance I can't afford to lend.
Insurance company regulations and liabilities (and law/ policy makers) have us by the go-nads in this country, and it's getting worse everyday.

You can rent a truck for $29 a day with unlimited mileage. Why would you ask to borrow somebody else's?
No, I don't lend my vehicles out.

Heck no. If he asked for help moving something, sure, and I've done this many times, but no way would I lend out my truck to anyone; especially someone who "seems displeased". That attitude doesn't fly, and raises a few suspicions.

No one has ever asked to borrow my truck but I suppose it depends on who was asking.
I did offer to lend it to a friend a couple of years ago but my neighbor had already loaned him a vehicle.
I have only one vehicle and that makes the decision a bit harder.

It all depends on who and why do they need it. I would only lend to my dad, brother and very select few others. If there truck broke down and they needed it for sure. But if the person is just to lazy or cheap to buy one no way.

I've let my family members borrow it. Haven't had a friend ask to borrow it yet, mainly because most of them have one (or have a family member with one). This is Alberta, after all.
There are some people I would allow to borrow my vehicle, mainly because I trust their driving and their judgement.
I wouldn't let "my neighbour" borrow it just because they asked. I would, however, be glad to drive it for them and help them do whatever they need to do.
I've helped a few people with my truck so that they don't have to do any driving. If they only own a car, a truck is quite a bit bigger, usually more powerful, less agile, tougher to know where the corners of the vehicle are, etc. Not a good thing for someone that normally drives a Civic to just get in and drive....

Always willing to lend a hand, but IncrediGirl or I will be driving, and will help loading/unloading etc.

I once borrowed my truck to a family member so they could make a dump run, they were remodeling their home and had their old carpet with the tackstrip or smoothedge still attached to it, got my truck back and the passenger side of the box was scratched all to heck, turns out when they unloaded the truck they just drug the carpet over the side. i brought it up with them and they ended up paiting the side of my truck...fast forward a month after it is out of the autobody they ask to borrow it again to pick up some plywood, since they did the right thing and paid for the damage they caused i thought they were good for it...get the truck back at the end of that day and someone ran into them at home depot and back to the autobody it goes.

I think I'd rather give someone the $30 to rent a truck for the day.

I have a friend whose truck is presently out of commission, and whose wife's truck is not large enough for the job. I got back from a long road trip, and he borrowed it within hours. I realized I'd forgotten to give him something and went to give it to him. The truck was already in way better shape than when he got it. I felt guilty about the condition, but confident the truck was in great hands.
The answer is, it depends. Only to certain people.

I've lent my truck to a good friend a couple times. Always returned cleaner than I lent it to him and a gas tank full. He's one of a very few people I would trust though.

My dagger in law didn't have a truck for ages. Loves vehicles and is twice as anal about their upkeep as me. A car guy through and through.
He's borrowed my truck a few times. Always comes back full of fuel and detailed.
More often then not I go with him on what ever the adventure may be. But when I can't. It's never an issue.
Family is no problem. And lots of good friends I have no issue with.

I did once, to a member of my wife's church. I just didn't know how to say "No", I've heard once doesn't even count, but it was a very unpleasant experience and (with a lost key and remote) I promised myself - it was the last.

Dont own a truck but even though my cavalier aint worth the paper its written on i wouldnt lend it out because im already paying a ton on insurance. It also depends though because if my sister needed the car to get her kids somewhere id lend it to her and put gas in it. But if buddy down the street needed it id say no

I'll lend it to friends no problem. What gets me is when I hear people who don't have trucks say "I'll just borrow one if I need one". Should never count on the generosity of others.

I have and will loan most anything out to the right person. Always a little hesitant with my one bro as things seem to go sideways whenever he uses something.

I will lend my truck to friends, family or a neighbor if I liked them but it comes with a driver (me) and I charge a flat rate of 24 Canadians.
