Default Air / Cordless Framing Nailers

We have decided to put up another shop. 60'x40'

Looking at purchasing some framing nailers what brands, air or cordless do you all recommend?

Thus far been an Eastwing swinger when building anything figured I'd give the nailers a go.

Haven't tried the Hitachi hoseless yet but looks awesome from YouTube . Still prefer hose and paslode 350 . Can't beat the reliability.

All JM or most 90% of them use the Passlode with no air line, watch for sales

Borrowed a Paslode to put up my shop, they are wicked. Got so fast and complacent using it I almost put a nail through my hand when the nail struck a knot and went sideways through the boards I was nailing. No idea about any other brand.

X2

Had a few different models at work, they were constantly in need of repair.

Put tens of thousands of nails through my DeWalt 20v. Good tool. Thousand nails on a charge.

If you want speed a Paslode air isn’t really going to be beat, but those airless are nice for convenience but I find them slower and more fragile. I’ve dropped many Paslode airs off the side of a roofline or wall and I pull it up by the line and it fires up right away. No way I’d want to do that with an airless.

I agree but I dropped my DeWalt twice from 12' onto a lift of lumber. Didn't miss a beat, well I did, getting down and back up again a few times.

I frame for a living there is nothing that beats a paslode but a Dewalt might last you one building if your lucky they are junk but but awesome when they work we didn’t have one that lasted a month.

I SOOOOOO AGREE!! I bought two[paid top dollar] within 2 months both calved. Sent them away got one back in 3 weeks repaired. The other they/dewalt seem to have lost. That went on for 2 or 3 months. Then they sent a brand new one which lasted a month or two. Both are under the bench resting in peace. Had a couple pasalode cordless at least 20 yrs ago. 10 times more reliable than the dewalt. However you need to buy fuel cells.
Just go with any air nailer and you will be farther ahead!!

Pulled the trigger on two Paslodes. A hoser and a hoseless.

Have more projects at our place at the lake as well new sauna and wood shed so both will come in handy.

For speed I use a regular air fed passlode with the orange trigger.

For small or fussy jobs I use an passlode impulse.

If you don't frame things often use a hammer. Its really easy to fill things full of nails. Really difficult to pull them apart.

12 years as a JM. Tried them all. Still run bostitch air gun. Passlode airless ( nothing but problems) bostitch airless ( garbage) dewalt 20 v ( great gun for 3-5k nails then nothing but problems) max airless is what we are currently using so far so good but expecting them to be similar to all the others. Bostitch air guns need seals replaced every so often other than that we still have guns in service that are 20-25 years old. We switched to passlode stapler....not impressed so far

I framed houses the old fashioned way with real wood and swung hammers for years.

With some arthritis now in my hands, its hard to grip a hammer anymore.

I picked up an air Bostitch coil nailer and have to say ... its a beast.

I was using 3.25 spiral nails last week to build some frames and it took no time at all. Its a bump fire, so all you do is touch the end to the wood and bam.

Once you set the air right, it nails like nothing else. Its a little heavy after a while but you can build like never before.
