Default New Boat Help

I'm thinking of buying a new or newer boat. Make and model undecided yet. I am looking for input from you boaters out there about reputable dealers.
Both pro's and con's please.

Thank you.

Sorry, I'm asking about the dealer, not the boat.
Thanks anyway

It might be helpful to know where you're boat shopping. Other than that, I can't really help out, every boat I've ever owned was used and a private deal.

I have had good luck at Free Spirit Marine for new outboard motors, his name is Thane . And Europa canopy in Edmonton for a new Mirror craft boat, not sure if he is still selling them or, not? His name is Daryl.

Im sure there must be some good deals at the the dealers with last year stock left over, and the dismal prospects of this years new fish'n regs!

Good Luck!!

x2 on Free Spirit. Only dealt with them for a few parts, a service, and a warranty transfer. Were helpful and straightforward.

I swear by Lund or Alumacraft, but SamSteele had some really great info on Princecraft and definitely got me thinking (mostly because they're Canadian made, therefore cheaper because they avoid aluminum import tarriffs)...

Barry Jay's in Edmonton is one of the best that I know of...

Get a crestliner. Rivets suck. I got mine in cold lake but can't remember the dealership name. Google knows it .

Hi Gerry,

Barry Jays has been reworking their website as of late, so it shows their Lund and Princecraft new offerings but also an up to date listing of their used inventory. That might be a good place to start as you figure out what you want and your budget. The used inventory or changing quick this time of year so a phone call is a good option as well once you have an idea what you are looking for.

Full disclosure, I Pro Staff for Barry Jays and Princecraft. I wouldn’t do it if I hadn’t had a great experience with both of them previous to being pro staff.

Feel free to shoot me a PM if I can help in anyway.

SS

My boat came from Outlaw Eagle manufacturing in Red Deer. I had a hand in designing the models interiors and prostaff for them. I ran the boat last year for the first time and it was an amazing boat made right here in Alberta.

They also have boats for sale there. Their sales division is Burnt Lake Motorsports.

They have a couple of my Eagle Kokanee models in stock. Also can make your dream custom boat.

Got mine from Boat Mart in Red Deer. Family run business, seem very knowledgeable and eager to please. They deal Alumacraft brand for fishing.

Last Jan I purchased my latest boat from Shipwreck Marine. I was looking for a very specific boat and it so happened Shipwreck had it. I had never felt with them befor that point. But since I had been convinced I would have to get this boat from the states....And one showed up in edmonton...well why not. I was very impressed with how they handled everything and the customer service and personal attention they provided, not to mention I got what I wanted and after many many, many internet searches, turns out they gave me the best price I would of found for the boat anywhere in Canada or the US factoring in all applicable exchange and what not....so I have to give them a good word.

Befor that my main dealer was Free Spirit and I had no issues there either all good guys! Would of purchased from them...but as mentioned, they just didn't have what I wanted.
