Default Shell Rotella - Gas Engines

Just saw an ad for this.

Anyone running this new Rotella oil yet?
Based on the reputation Rotella has built for diesel engines I imagine the gas version will be equally great.

Diesel Oil is same as Gas engine oil, but they do add a soot grabbing additive for the diesel designation to keep the carbon in suspension.

All the same, Rotella is good stuff.

I run Rotella in my old 460, it's supposed to be easier on the cam and lifters than modern oil formulations.

I have run rotella oil for 35 yrs at least with no engine failures. The inside of the engine stays as clean as the day it came off the assembly line.

running it in the older ford 5.4 engines would likely make it easier to get the spark bolts out in one piece.

I assume the op is talking about this stuff, not about running "rotella" in a gas truck.

Over on bitog it seems to have a good reception. A little on the thicker side for its grade, so good for use in a truck that gets used for truck stuff
