Default castle river

Hi everyone.
I was wondering if anyone has anything to say about the castle river. I'm going mid July...not really a fishing trip but the flyrod goes where I do.
castle river bridge is where we are going.

No expert but have fished it a handful of times, great fishing to be had! Lower down I'd say mostly rainbows, with the number of cutthroats increasing as you go higher up in system, decent numbers of bull trout as well. Can be busy, especially on July/Aug weekends near main accesses. Most years mid july could still be a bit high cold, but this year with lower snowpack in area I'm not sure if that'll be much of an issue. Carbondale and other small tribs are well worth fishing to, have fun!!!

Good fishing to be had there but I would get a couple kms away from the bridge to keep out of traffic. Poor access downstream but its where the rafts shine. A couple big drops after the next bridge that require a bit of skill to get over but the traffic will be behind you and the bullies ahead. If you have any kids along you can take them to nearby Lee lake for the plentiful but smaller rainbows.
