I keep these instructions and supplies on hand just in case.
Mix 1 quart hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda and 1 to 2 teaspoons of liquid soap. Add lukewarm water if needed (for larger dogs). Mix ingredients well. The solution will fizz, as a chemical reaction is occurring. Use immediately. soak well, rince off, amazingly enough, it works wonders

It got rid of 95% of the stink an hour before a May long weekend camping trip!! Our dog was able to stay in the tent with us!

i had a dog that used to love squeaky skunks. i learned that the best way to deal with it was an outdoor pen. you just leave him out there for a few days and the smell goes away

I was woken in the middle of the night by a gut wrenching, pewtrid stink of my dogs coming in the house freshly sprayed down by skunk.I had know tomatoe juice,or didn't even know if it actually worked.I was to madto care.I put them in the tub and hosed them off with shower head and then "shampooed" them off with canned diced tomatoes and plain tomatoe sauce. Then washed them off with shampoo. It worked for the most part.there was still a little remaining smell but at least it wasn't a full on smell.

I also used this method last summer when our dog and a foster dog both got sprayed. We used Dawn dish soap (blue). Worked wonders!

This has worked the 3 times my dogs have been sprayed. Had to use a few baths to get mine clean but it works. I will also mention that a few cups of vinegar set out here and there where you clean the dog will also help to absorb some of the airborne odours. I used dawn dish soap too and it really foams up well on the dogs.
