Very sorry to hear of your loss Bessie. Poor a shot of whatever Scotch you purchased from our Oiler/Flames bet and enjoy it with your favorite memories of Sadie.
I dread the day I have to go through the same with our dog.

RIP Sadie.

That’s gut wrenching. You knew quite a while as it was inevitable but does not stop the pain. I like dogs more then people most days lol. Cruelest joke is what a short time they with us yet in our hearts for life. So sorry to hear Bessie. Just think bud, you were the lucky SOB that got every day of her life, now that special!!!

My heart goes out to you and your family.

When they go, they always take a part of us with them.
We lost our first girl (Pudelpointer) almost ten years ago, and we still miss and think of her almost daily. However, it use to bring tears to our eyes, now we we just smile when we remember her.
Gone but never forgotten.

I started and stopped a response to this several times.

Going through something similar right now. He's still with us, but it's literally day by day. I've been in mourning for months now and very close to being at peace with the final trip.

My wife and I had a recent significant family milestone. I bought her jewelry, and she made an 80 page photo-book of our black lab from puppy to now over 13years.

Damn allergy attack when going through the book, but one thing that made me feel really at peace is that I can say with confidence we gave our lab the best life possible. We had some epic adventures that my wife lovingly captured in photos and being a graphic designer that helped with the book-making part.

You gave your Sadie the same life. Hope that is some comfort to you.

With respect to the AO forum. We've been on AO for about the same amount of time. I took a few year hiatus, and came back just to read, and now I've resumed posting once in a while. Take a break, but don't disappear. We haven't interacted much personally, but I've like reading your perspective on things, even if my thoughts didn't necessarily align.

Anyhow. Take care.

Yes - my words don't do it justice either. Any of us who have lost a dog knows exactly what it feels like, and its tough.

They are such a big part of our lives! I enjoyed your pics. Thanks for sharing that small piece with us. The heart will heal with time!

Default My family dog Sadie

I am so sorry for you and your family. We went through the same thing at the end of January. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to go through. Dogs are family, and it’s extremely hard to let them go. She’s gone but will never be forgotten. Know that you and your family gave her the best life, and that she was a happy dog. Condolences Bessiedog. I’m typing this with tears in my eyes.

Sorry to hear about your families loss Bessie, tears for sure and brings back family memories for me. I have not forgotten the healing that dogs have provided for my family over the years, especially to the children. I'm raising my 8 year old grandson and my 10 year old granddaughter and they keep asking for a dog so bad. I'm reluctant to get one probably for selfish reasons as I've experienced the pain of losing a few over the years and one never really recovers, you just learn how to cope. I don't want to put them through that experience just yet......for as much love and joy they bring to us, the pain we feel when they depart is unbearable.

Prayers and condolences to you and family....

Hey Bessie, sorry to hear about Sadie. That is a tough one for sure, I lost one in 2013. It took a couple years before I was ready for another, I now have a husky named Miska who brings so much happiness to life. I hope you don't quit the forum, but I understand. I always enjoyed your flyfishing pics and posts and your comments on mine.

Sure sorry to hear that Bessie. I remember not that long ago seeing the pics you posted of what I'm guessing was Sadies last hunt. You were sure lucky to have a friend like her....and she was pretty darn lucky to have you as well!

So sorry. The memories with Sadie and the time you spent with her transcend our time in this place. Her spirit and time with you lives forever. Don’t Forget that. With my deepest sympathies.

Sorry to hear, Bessie. They leave such a big hole in your life when they are gone, because they are such a big part of it while they are here with you.

You'll always cherish the memories. There is comfort in that.
