Default Helical fletches for compound bows? Tighter groups?

I recently refletched some arrows for the compound bow and went helical. Only because I have a fletching jig with a helical clamp that I've used on wooden arrows for trad gear.

Just curious if anyone has seen a difference shooting three fletch helical vs straight out of a compound?

Just read your other thread about aiming off at 40 yards and I recall you saying you had a WB on your bow? I'm not sure, but with helical going against the WB you may have tuning issues - I'm just not 100% sure.

In just thinking about it, straight fletches would come out of a WB cleaner than helical. But this is only my opinion....

I have heard helical fletching and a WB is a issue as well.

Don’t use helical in a whisker biscuit...straight or slight offset only.

I haven't had any issues with my helicals through my whisker biscuit. My bow is tuned right to 60 yards with my current setup. I definitely don't have to aim off 3" at 40 yards. Now I do have to say that I'm not shooting a very steep offset helical. I use a Bohning Pro jig and my helical is set at just 1 degree. So what Lefty said, slight offset or straight is probably best.

Have you done any paper or walk back tuning with your setup?

I get much better groups with straight fletch. Shot helical for years with aluminium arrows but switched 10 years ago after fighting with fine tuning carbons.
