Have always been a honda guy for generator's. Had a 2000 & a 3800. The 3800 was too big & loud. My 2000 was the old model that I could not parallel with another so I sold both & planned on buying two 2000's that I could parallel. Was going to cost me close to 3 G's. Yesterday I bought two Briggs 2200 inverter's on sale at Cdn Tire. I was leery. Today I tested one. It is every bit as quiet as my honda. Hooked up a 1/2" drill & it barely noticed. Two for about the price of one honda. Who knows how long they will last but I thought it was worth a try.

I really hope this works for you.

I’m looking for a 2200 watt generator right now, but I feel anything with a pull cord, should be a Honda, Yamaha, Husqvarna, or Stihl.

I’d be more confident in a used Honda, than a new Briggs. But it’ll probably work out for you, and I hope it does.

For occasional use, I would look at Firman and Westinghouse. If you’re going to put >2000 hrs on it, buy a Yamaha. If you’re going to put >5000 hrs, buy a Honda.

At the sports man show riverside Honda has a deal on Honda 2000’s because they’re bringing out the 2200 model to replace it. The 2000’s were on sale sorta. Not much cheaper then the 2200 but still. I talked to the guy for a bit, I’m really impressed with the parallel system they have. It’s just makes sense to buy two small ones. If you don’t need big power.

I had a cheap one from Canadian Tire and you could hear it a mile away. Went to a Honda 2000 and you can have a conversation standing next to it when running.
