Default Mechanic help

Looking for some ideas.

My clearance lights will not shut off 😤. If I pull the LT Prk fuse that side will go out. But when I pull the RT prk that side will stay on. I have unplugged all the connections in rear and sprayed them with contact cleaner. Any help would be great as I have been trying things for the last three nights!!

Thanks
Al

I haven’t checked the headlight switch to see if it’s faulty.. I did pull the park lamp relay tonight and everything still stayed on. I also noticed tonight my right rear turn signal isn’t working front is working fine

I have a 2010 Toyota Tacoma and I had a similar issue when everything was shut off and keys out of ignition, I had some rear lights that were on.
It was some sort of switch and was still under warranty and so was fixed without charge to me.
It is very frustrating to have everything shut off and lights still on.
I hear they do go out eventually..........
Good luck

Possibly your tail light junction box/circuit board is shorted. located on frame by spare tire behind your trailer hitch area.

Ram, thanks for those I will look at this when i get home.

if I unplug the power supply to the junction box the tail lights go out but the fronts stay on. so now I believe the problem is in front of that.

Sounds like a faulty ground somewhere. When something stays on with the switch off it's because power is feeding back and grounding elsewhere. Check ground wire from rt taillight .

Yup, probably stuck in the closed position, which is weird as the default position is open, but I do see the same ting happen on furnace or boiler control boards on occasion. Usually relays break where they won't engage at all, but the opposite is not uncommon either.

Had a similar problem with my wife's car several years ago. It turned out to be the daytime running light relay that was the culprit. Unplugged the relay and everything worked fine.

It won’t be a relay as the one relay supplies both right and left fuse. More than likely you have a wire rubbed through and touching a power supply on the side that stays lit even after you pull the fuse to that side.

That would be my guess too.

Many a faulty grounds have caused me to pull out my hair.

Check all your grounds just to exclude that as your problem.
