Thin blue line
How do you feel about police wearing the patch. I am in full support of them wearing it. Matter of fact I would wear one, if I had one. Upper brass has a different opinion.

They should be wearing the patch to remember all those who have given their lives, and all those who have been injured in the line of duty. The patch shows support for those killed and injured, and for each other.
Upper management, or whomever made the decision they are not allowed to wear the patch is way out of touch, or never was in touch with the rank and file members.
The Commissioner of the RCMP is nothing but a figure head for the Turd. The PM's office controls what the RCMP does, hence no proper investigation into SNC Lavalin and the WE charities scandals.
As a First Responder I get to meet and know a lot of RCMP officers. Great people who want to make a difference in their communities - but lack support from the puzzle palace in Ottawa.

I can understand the need to display solidarity with other officers, but on the other hand, to some, that 'solidarity' also means silence, or 'looking the other way' when some members step outside of the law. They already wear the same uniform and RCMP crests - do they really need to fly colours too?

I'll put it this way, if I get a chance to get one or buy one,
it's going in my truck next to my Remembrance Day Poppy.

I'm curious if the same rule will apply to an LGBTQ pin or BLM pin....is a supervisor or manager going to request they no longer wear these support pins now as well? how's that scenario going to play out....

So your singling out a group within a group and labeling them all with the same paint brush. No different then saying all BLM supporters are rioters and looters because there are a few who use that organization to cover their nefarious actions. They use the same logo signs and rallies.... I have no problem with any law enforcement using that logo. It was the media who related the term to covering up other officers misconduct.

Nothing against it and can understand why they choose to wear it
I do have a problem with the moronic social justice warriors that choose to attack and demonize every little thing these days

I’m fine with the patches, they don’t represent anything hateful or evil. Those who claim that the symbol is something that it isn’t, just happen to be spreading prejudice themselves, so there’s that.

To be more specific it represents the thin line between chaos and a civilized society and the men and women who protect us from that chaos. It does not represent solidarity or a code of silence as one has suggested. it is not meant for LEO's only and anyone who supports that line and the men & women in LE can display it.

Honest question. How many RCMP officers stood by while enough citizens were harassed to the the tune of $100,000,000?

I was told I can no longer wear a "muted" Canadian Flag (black and grey) because it did not fall under the uniform policy. It only came up when the thin blue line issue started.

I was at Mayerthorpe, Spirit Wood and Hay River, all scenes of murdered RCMP members. I also dealt in the investigation of a member who died on duty in a motor vehicle collision. To me the patch represents those who gave their all for us. It also shows support for all men and women who serve in law enforcement. To disallow it, for me, is a huge show of disrespect .

Being a cop is hard.
When im in trouble, I'm dailing 911.
And there are those in CANADA that see that patch as a symbol of child abduction and corruption.
Just different experiences.
Your experience does not diminish those families that lost thier family because of policy.
I dont agree with not allowing it. Just give people an accurate account of RCMP behavior in Canada...

Police wear uniforms. The wearing of uniforms and accoutrements/insignia is regulated. Accoutrements/insignia must be authorized by the governing authority. While I support the badge, I have one on my bumper, it doesn't belong on the uniform unless it is officially sanctioned.
If you've never worn a uniform, you might not get it...

I concur.....this happens in the military too but God bless the troops, LEO's, first responders to plug on even with questionable leadership at times....all in a day's work....

They should follow their respective uniformity rules. It's a UNIFORM for a reason.

If leo are allowed to wear anything they want on their uniform, it's not a uniform. If they refuse to wear the uniform as outlined, they should not be considered as in uniform. And if they are not in uniform, they should have their position of power removed until such time as they conform to the standards.
