Default Coyotes

I have been seeing coyotes out and about while bear hunting. I have been tempted but a30-06 might make a fair size hole. Is anyone looking for pelts in the event one gets close. I am unsure what to do with the hide but may give it a go unless someone wants one. I am in the High Level area.

No value in the pelt this time year. You could take one and practice skinning it but you’re right a 30-06 would put a fair size hole.

Use a full metal jacket, 150 gr not the 110, look close for the blood trail, it'll likely look a little better in couple of weeks but your far northern latitude will surely make for a fine wall hanger pelt if nothing else... or better! By all means tan him or ship him to a tannery. Give Rod Graham a call.

Case skin him, salt him (heavily) and stretch him inside out if you arent up for the full job

I shot one this time of year while deer hunting with my 30-06. I think the front half of the hide was better than the back half but I couldn’t really tell as the two pieces were separated by a 1 foot hole.
