Default Twisted Peep Sight

Hey fellas (& ladies), I have read through the old threads on this and done my internet homework. A while back I noticed my peep was twisted at full draw. So I brought it into the shop, they flipped a string around and It seemed good. However the peep was off again shortly after. So went back and they twisted the d-loop for me. It was good but after some more shooting same thing happened. Went back again and they tried to tighten the d-loop onto the serving and turned it again. The boys at the shop figured another flip around of the string would turn the peep too much. The strings are old, possibly original so they are saying I might need new strings. Problem is cash flow for that.

Does anyone have any other tricks I can try? Thanks.

If the peep is continuing to twist the string is stretching unfortunately.

You can keep adjusting and chasing but eventually a new string (or string/cable set) is the answer.

If where you store the bow is quite warm, the heat isn't good for the string and will add to the stretching issue.

Agreed, a peep continually twisting is a string streaching for sure. This is a warning sign that your string and cables need to be changed. The threads on your bow are consumable and have a limited number of cycles and time that they are good for, and they should be treated as such

Your peep twisting is something that you can see. What you can't see under the serving on the strings and cables are the broken strands and eyes that are on their way out. I would not hesitate to change them. I have seen several bow failures that were precluded by persistent timing issues and/ or persistent peep rotation.

Jmo,

Norm

If your string/cable set is older than 4+ years and is still stretching it's
worn out and likely starting to break.
I would change out the sting cable set without a second thought.

If your not comfortable about doing that yourself take it to a bow shop.
Trust me if you do it before it breaks or snaps it will save you money
and time rather than wait until it fails.

On the ligheter side of a bow fail is the thought of cable slashing through
the bow hand forarm.
And the broken sting slicing through a cheek and lower lip up across the
forhead.

Not to metion the missing eyebrow.

Things to think about.

It's normal and ok for a new string cable set to seat in and stretch.
To a point.

Setting in a peep sight before like 125 to 300 shots on a new string/cable
set is wrong. It anit stretched yet!

Old bow or new if your string keeps untwisting for a longtime somethings
wrong for sure wrong.

Get it checked out.
