Default An Autumnal Equinox Cutty Session

i had a good buddy of mine from up north come down for an annual trip that was a little later than normal this year. we agreed, better later than not at all. we hit up a couple of my favorite stretches and found a few decent fish. it sure was a beautiful first day of autumn to be on the water with a good friend, the cuttys willing to munch hoppers was definitely an added bonus. yep, better late than never. enjoy.

Beauty pics and fish as usual Dace.

That one with his mouth open looks like a bruiser.

i do. and most of the fall too. it's beautiful time to be out walking. the big struggle at this time of year is deciding whether to pack the fly rod or the stick and string.

my buddy plucked it out of the crick with his forceps. he thought he'd found a real live southern alberta cockroach! i tied a similar pattern on in attempt to match the hatch. it didn't work so i went back to the hopper.

Great pics. Love the jaws on that old male. Love fishing with the yellow leaves around and big fat orange bellies in the creek.
