Default Moose tracks

How big does a track have to be before you get excited? I mean here in Alberta, not the Yukon or some other place with giants. We saw these tracks and were impressed (honestly, I get excited whenever I see a bull track big or small). Soon after we saw the bull with some nice paddles....

So these measured out at about 9 inches to the tines. I hope the owner is still around for late season moose.

That looks pretty good, I go more by weight and how far down the tracks push into the ground. If you can stand on ground with barely any depression but a bulls track sinks 3-4" down that's a big heavy bull over 1000lbs.

Do you have pics of that bull since you took pics of his tracks? That's quite the detail putting in a paper with the date and all, musta been prepared!

Well, I think I would get excited if the track was smoking hot and I was hunting moose.
That track is old, you were lucky to see the moose shortly after.
A running moose (spread toed) makes a hellava big track.

Congrats on a nice moose track!

The track is old because when I told a friend about him he called bull sh!t. We hadn't seen moose or tracks in the area for a long time. So I went back a couple days later to get some proof.

he was only dumb enough to leave a mark on a road and get our attention because he was following a young cow. Those women will get you in trouble every time

Yippers, got a nice WT buck one Nov chasin after the woman. It was the rut and lots of scrapes in the area. Was around noon, first come the doe and I let her walk by and sure enough, out come the big feller.
