I have a Remington 870 marine magnum. The gun is fantastic and it goes everywhere I do. The trynite finish has stood up remarkably. I have has the gun for 5 years, it has seen mud, sand, snow, water, it has never malfunctioned. It is an awsome firearm.

hey sheepguide no one else seems to have had this problem or just not talking about it. I have the Maverick 88 (mossberg) and on my last outing i had a jam on a spent shell, annoying for me but in a life or death situation? This is about the 200 round mark for this gun never a problem before.
I like my firearms clean so this wasn`t a fouling, but it was - 20 C out not that I can see that affecting the mechanics. I`ve cycled about 50 more rounds just to see if would jam again, and it hasn`t
Be interested to know what you choose.

I have a 870 remington that I put a folding stock on. I have a sling on it but find it ackward to carry. Also heavy as it weighs in at over 8 pounds. Sometimes when I pick up my pack and feel how heavy it is I put the shotgun away and then take a can of bearspray. I have been playing with the idea of getting a used 300 magnum and cutting it down just enough to be legal. Even if I can get a couple of pounds off of the shotgun weight it would be worth it.
